Composting Directly in the Garden
With all of this cooking from home and Social Distancing, I sure have some kitchen scraps. Since I have a bit more time I’m going to add these to my garden. It’s simple.
· Collect your veggie, fruit, egg shells (no meat or dairy), etc… in a bowl or bucket.
· Head outside
· Dig a hole in your garden
· Dump the scraps in the hole
· Re-Cover with the dirt
Easy! I’m keeping a shovel handy to head out and do this more often. It will decompose and provide nutrients directly in your garden. And, it’s environmentally friendly. So far I haven’t had any problems with this. Just be sure to cover it with dirt.
